At Summerhall Distillery we're known for producing Pickering's Gin and The Broody Hen Scotch Whisky right in the heart of Edinburgh. But did you know that we offer a wide range of tours, tasting, workshop and events?
Our Tours & Tastings
We run tours and tastings of Pickering's Gin and The Broody Hen Scotch Whisky every Thursday - Sundays from 11am - 8pm. These take place in our hand-built distillery in the centre of Edinburgh.
Distillery Tour & Gin Tasting (Gin Jolly)
Starting in our Old Workshop where you can marvel at all of our quirky inventions and learn about the incredible history of Pickering's Gin. Our tour then takes you to our Distillery to see the original Indian recipe written down in 1947 and learn how we make our delicious small batch gins.
Included in this tour is a Pickering's Gin and Tonic on arrival at The Royal Dick Pub, guided tasting of 4 neat samples of our core range gins, and filling your very own 5cl bottle of Pickering's Gin that you'll take home.

Gin History & Cocktails (Peacocktail)
This tour is a great introduction to learn about the surprising origins of gin. Starting off with a tour of our hand-built distillery where you'll learn how we make our small batch gin following our original recipe from Bombay. Moving upstairs to our boardroom you'll learn how gin evolved through the ages while enjoying a delicious cocktail.
Included in this tour is a Pickering's Original 1947 Gin and Tonic, a classic cocktail, 4 neat samples of our gins, and a surprise goodie bag with a 5cl of Pickering's Original Gin.

Whisky Tasting & Tales
Discover our hidden tavern tucked away in the depths of our Old Workshop. You'll hear captivating tales and legends that surround this famous Scottish spirit. You'll be taken to our Distillery, where we meticulously bottle and label The Broody Hen whisky range.
Included in this experience is 4 tasters of The Broody Hen Highland Blend, 10-year-old Single Malt, Sherry Cask and Islay Peat.

Our Workshop & Events
Cheese & Cocktail Pairing Masterclass
Our masterclass is a fabulous sensory journey where you'll be mixing up your very own cocktails whilst learning about their history and origin. Each cocktail is paired with a stunning selection of Scottish cheeses from local cheesemonger I.J. Mellis, acclaimed in Edinburgh for their choice of the finest farmhouse cheeses.
Included in this masterclass is 3 full strength Pickering's Gin cocktails and a selection platter of local cheeses.
Cocktails and cheese selection will vary according to season.

Prohibition Cocktail & Tales (The Roaring 20's)
Hidden within our Old Workshop and tucked away from the courtyard in the Summerhall, that is where you will find our Speakeasy Experience. Give the secret password on the door and let us transport you back to the Roaring 20's and sink into the golden era of arts, music, and illegal beverages.
Included in this tour is 2 full-strength cocktails.
