17th Century Scotland
Let’s step back in time. All the way back to 17th Century Scotland. High levels of taxation mean illicit distillers are going to great lengths to avoid the taxman – hiding their precious produce in the most peculiar of places. Barrels are smuggling in funeral corteges, whilst bottles find their way into the nests of broody hens. Fast forward to 2022 and The Broody Hen is born in Edinburgh.
