Six Nations 2025: Where to watch in Edinburgh

Six Nations season is almost upon us! Kicking off on the 31st of January this year, it's one of the biggest events in Edinburgh every year. If you're looking for somewhere to watch the games and enjoy a G&T, below are our top recommendations from the team here at Summerhall Distillery!

1. Diggers (Athletic Arms)

Diggers (Athletic Arms)

Recommended by Marina who creates all of our tours and experience at Summerhall Distillery. Tucked away in Polwarth, this pub was founded in 1987 and specialises in whisky but also had a fantastic selection of beers and spirits - including The Broody Hen. Diggers is the name locals give this pub as it's located between two graveyards and was frequented by the gravediggers, propping their spades on the bar after a long day of burying the dead. You can still see the notches on the bar to his day! They have screens to watch live sport, making it a cosy watch for the games.

2. Teutchers Bar & Bunker (West End)

Teuchters Bar & Bunker

A recommendation from our Head of Finance Lionel. This popular pub is located in the West End, so a great pitstop on the way to the stadium or to hunker down to watch the game. This lively atmosphere has a great selection of tasty food, beers and spirits - including our Pickering's Gin! We recommend you book a table far in advance (especially for any Scotland game) as this pub fills up quick!

3. Edinburgh Street Food

Edinburgh Street Food

This newer edition to the Edinburgh food and drink scene that's been recommended by our Sales Manager, Matt. Located next to the St James Center this food court boasts 11 delicious food vendors and the bar is flowing with tasty beers and spirits. They host a variety of events but will be showing every Six Nations game on their big screen. They only have bookings for groups 10+, but they have room for over 400 walk-ins any day at any time. Oh, they also stock Pickering's Gin, so you can enjoy a perfect serve.

4. Old Eastway Tap

Old Eastway Tap

This dog friendly pub has been recommended by our Marketing Manager, Ellen. A relaxed and cosy pub on Easter Road, they feature 16 draught lines and 4 cask ale lines pouring a wide range of craft beers, lagers, and ciders. The also have an incredible spirit line up and Pickering's Gin has just joined the family! Along with a delicious food menu (including vegan options), this is a great pub to watch the games if you're looking to steer clear of the city centre.

5. The Pear Tree

The Pear Tree

Recommended by our Distillery Operator, Jason. If you're looking for a very lively atmosphere then The Pear Tree is the place to be during The Six Nations. It's home to one of the biggest beer gardens in Edinburgh with the biggest outdoor screen in the city. They have have a great selection of beers, spirits and food, and for any Guinness lovers out there, they have their very own Guinness bar to pour the perfect pint.

There you have it, our top staff recommendations to watch The Six Nations 2025 games. Maybe we'll see you enjoying a perfect Pickering's Gin serve or a dram of The Broody Hen, either way we hope you'll be cheering the Scotland team on, like we will!
