Here’s our round-up of the best festive markets happening in and around the capital this year, from the famous Princes Street Gardens to creative corners filled with independent makers (and a few familiar faces from Summerhall Distillery!).
🎄 1. Edinburgh’s Christmas Market – East Princes Street Gardens

The beating heart of Edinburgh’s festive season. Wander through rows of wooden chalets selling crafts, street food and decorations, all beneath the glow of the Big Wheel and the castle skyline. It’s big, bright, and utterly Edinburgh.

🛠️ 4. Edinburgh Open Workshop Festive Makers Market
29 November, 10:00am – 4:00pm | 39–41 Assembly Street, Leith
Independent makers, designers and craftspeople take over this creative Leith workshop for a festive one-day market bursting with local talent. Expect handcrafted gifts, good tunes, and the odd tipple or two.

Our home turf! A much-loved fixture of Edinburgh’s festive calendar, the Summerhall Christmas Market gathers independent artists, makers and food vendors under one roof.
Expect handmade gifts, mulled drinks, live music, and, of course, a full line-up of Pickering’s Gin treats to sample and shop.

🎨 7. Winter Arts Market – Out of the Blue Drill Hall

Over 100 artists and designers fill this iconic venue with original artwork, jewellery, ceramics and festive cheer. A great place to shop sustainably and locally.
🍷 8. Assembly Rooms Christmas Fair
6–7 December, 10:30am - 5:00pm | Assembly Rooms, George Street
Step inside one of Edinburgh’s most elegant venues for a truly festive shopping experience.
The Assembly Rooms Christmas Fair brings together over 100 exhibitors from across the UK, offering a diverse range of products, including luxury homeware, artisanal food, handcrafted jewellery, and seasonal gifts.
🌲 9. Jupiter Artland Christmas Fair
6–7 & 13–14 December, 10:00am - 5:00pm | Wilkieston
Head just outside the city for a festive day among sculptures and evergreens. Jupiter’s Christmas Fair offers craft stalls, hot food and plenty of festive magic.
